Since 1995, Richard Muirhead has been involved in starting, funding, building and finding long-term homes for innovative software and internet businesses. He is currently Chairman of Tixdaq (www.tixdaq.com) and investor/advisor to T5M (www.t5m.com).
From October 2002 to 2009, he was Chairman, CEO and Founder of [Tideway Systems] (http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/tideway) which with its IT discovery platform tackled the persistent and fundamental challenge of managing change in distributed applications. Tideway's hundreds of clients included JPMorganChase, Avis, CarphoneWarehouse, Wachovia and BT. Tideway was acquired for cash by BMC Software in October 2009 and its product Foundation is a key strategic platform for BMC going forward.
Between 2001 and 2002, Richard was Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Accel Partners at the inception of their London office.
From 1995 to 2001, he was a co-founder SVP of Orchestream. Listing on LSE and NASDAQ, with a peak market capitalization that reached £1.0 billion. Now sold and supported by Oracle, Orchestream's IP service activation software products are automating operations at service providers such as AT&T, Telstra and Vodafone to this day.
Richard was a Technology Pioneer at the World Economic Forum for 2009, a finalist in the UK Technology Innovation & Growth Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2006 and runner-up in the British Computing Society's Intel IT Leader of the Year Award for 2008.
Richard holds an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University and is a citizen of both Australia and the United Kingdom.
